School Counseling Program The personal statement for school counseling program applicants is to focus on the topic Why I Want to Study and Contribute to the School Counseling Profession. The applicant is to address the following: Why s/he is interested in pursuing graduate study in the school counseling profession, short term career objectives, what the applicant intends to gain out of graduate study, and long term goals. Given national changing demographics, the applicant is to comment on the role of the school counselor in work with multicultural populations.
