Program Requirements

Personal statement, official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and resume. International applicants require a transcript evaluation by any member of NACES, such as WES.


This STEM certified Master's program is a professionally aimed program preparing individuals for career employment opportunities within Human Resources. Consistent with professional graduate preparation, the program requires self-funding with the opportunity for select partial one-time scholarships predicated on the individual's background and achievement. Once in the program individuals may apply for partial external scholarships based on accomplishment.


If student is an RU student with CGPA above 3.0, GRE not required. Students that are not RU are exempt if they have four or more years of significant experience in the field of HRM. To request waiver of the GRE based on experience, a resume must be sent to the Program Director, Dave Ferio, ferio@smlr.rutgers.edu with the request for waiver.


Test Requirements

GRE General or GMAT. Proof of English Language Proficiency (i.e. TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo). Rutgers Undergraduates who have a minimum 3.0 GPA are not required to take the GRE/GMAT test requirement as part of the admission to the MHRM program. Individuals with several years of HR or business experience may not be required to take the GRE/GMAT exam.


Personal Statement Instructions

In your personal statement, you should state why you are interested in Human Resource Management as a career and why our program. Statement should be about three double-spaced paragraphs (one page maximum)
