Please describe your reasons for applying to the PhD program in the School of Social Work. It is advised that you include a discussion of your relevant research background and experience, as well as any policy, direct practice, or community experience that you have.

In addition, please describe what interests you about the SSW PhD program, including the faculty and research centers that appeal to you. How do your own research interests, background, and goals align with these faculty and/or research centers? What specifically interests you about their research and professional work?

Please be sure to briefly summarize your current areas of substantive interest, and your general career goals and aspirations.

Finally, please make sure to identify whether you are applying for the full-time or part-time PhD program. Note that we are not accepting applicants in our MSW/PhD program this academic year.
