Program Requirements

Personal statement indicating interests within childhood studies and reasons for applying to Rutgers Childhood studies program. We also require a writing sample from Ph.D applicants. Ph.D program does not accept non-matric applicants. Non-matric for MA Program only. Only 6 non-matric credits will be counted toward doctoral degree.

Test Requirements

GRE General requirement is being waived for the 2021-22 academic year. For international applicants, a minimum TOEFL score of 94 is required and each section must be above a 22. For IELTS scores, a minimum of a 7.0 is required with a 6.5 for each section.
