All applicants to the MFA in Design in the Department of Art & Design must complete two separate applications.

Rutgers University Application: Rolling Admissions

2. Request for official transcripts
3. Request for test scores* (international students only)
4. $70 university application fee
5. Statement of Research Interests (see below)
Statement of Research Interests: In 300-500 words discuss your intentions for research and design exploration in graduate study. Describe how this intention relates to your current creative practice, as well as your personal and professional long-term goals

Supporting Materials: January 10, 2020

1. Official transcripts
2. Test scores

SlideRoom Portfolio: Rolling Admissions

1. Art & Design Questionnaire
2. Statement of Research Interests (upload the essay you used for your university application)
3. Portfolio (see requirements below)
4. Resume/CV
5. $50 SlideRoom fee (separate from university application fee)
6. 3 Letters of Recommendation

The link to the portfolio submission through SlideRoom is emailed to applicants within 5 business days of submitting the Rutgers University application.

Test Requirements

*International applicants must score an 83 or above on the TOEFL IBT, a 233 or above on the TOEFL Computer version or a 70 or above on the IELTS*
