Test Requirements

PhD: The GRE General test is preferred for PhD applicants. MS: The GRE General test will not be considered by the admissions committee in its deliberations.

Personal Statement Content for all applicants (MS, PhD, and 3+2 students after completion of their first year at Rutgers)

The personal statement should include four separate paragraphs, each addressing one of the following topics:
1. Describe your academic preparation, achievements and interests.
2. Which of the following program options do you want to pursue and what skills do you hope to learn after completing that option?

* Air Pollution Science and Technology
* Environmental Chemistry
* Environmental Engineering
* Environmental Microbiology
* Exposure Assessment (PhD only)
* Pollution Prevention and Control

3. Which of the program’s faculty member(s) do you want to work with and why? You are encouraged to contact faculty in the program to gauge compatibility and investigate options for financial support if needed.
4. What are your career goals after you complete your graduate studies at Rutgers?


Nondegree: Transcripts
